Destination: Dubliin!

Delayed. So much for working until the last moment. Sitting in the Naples airport isn't that terrible though, 30+ bags tossed when the cart took a sharp turn, a huge explosion resulting in people looking around semi panicked (blown tire on fuel truck), and adorable kids sure helped pass the time. At our most desperate moment we called the office to see if the C-9 and pilot were available. Cost effective? Um...we could use a cheer squad. No luck. Something about not enough lead time for airspace clearances???

Reason for delay? Routine maintenance went longer than planned. Really? Finally arrived to Dublin, rain and all. It was so refreshing landing in a country where I can read signs and communicate! Well, mostly. Apparently I still have the luck of starring at a map and picking the opposite directions...but there is always more than 1 way to get somewhere and when exploring a new place? Who cares if it takes a tad longer?

Our hotel room is fabulous- it's part of the converted attic space and probably about the size of the living space of my Van Buren Street apartment. Dicey's (the hotel's beer garden) located next door has been hopping since we arrived but it's not too bad volume wise. Again, Naples living combined with living on Frat Row in SLO, and near downtown Monterey? I sleep better when it's not silent.

As far as food goes...fish and chips paired with a Guinness! I'm a happy girl. So much so I'm adopting this culture for the next 6 days- pass the potatoes, yes I want a pint, that's grand. It may be the second pint but my eyes seem bluer, freckles more abundant, and my curls and showing a little more red than normal as the rain makes them curlier. Miss Molly Malone and I sure seem to have some similar traits....Mom, Dad, am I really Irish?
